Bailey, Frost & Myrrh present

Business As Usual
Episode 3:Ding! Ding! Ding! Goes the Orbit!

Molly_headline_img

Like sand in the Vaseline, so is a day in the life for the folks at Bailey, Frost, and Myrrh. In today’s episode, Molly breaks down.

“It won’t stop dinging at me!”

Molly is frantically circling a wall of paper and furniture that could at one time be considered a desk in her office. There is an faint but audible random ding emanating from the sea of non-humanity every few seconds.

“From where, Mollarino?”

Molly

MOLLY
“From something on my desk!”

Greg

GREG
“What desk?”

Dale

DALE
“Holy Mother of Jehoshaphat, what keeps…”

“DING!”

Dale

DALE
“…dinging?!”

“DING!”

Doug

DOUG
“It’s her computer. And it’s dinging because we set it up that way.”

Dale

DALE
“Set what up what way?”

Doug

DOUG
“HighOrbit.”

Dale

DALE
“What’s HighOrbit?”

Larry

LARRY
“It’s what you told me to get last week, boss,”

“DING!”

Larry

LARRY
“Ding!”

Doug

DOUG
“HighOrbit is our new system for handling literally every process we have at BFM. Every time anything needs to be implemented, Molly gets a message.”

Molly

MOLLY
“I haven’t gotten any messages!”

“DING!”

Doug

DOUG
“Molly, we’ve set the HighOrbit system up so that you are the gatekeeper. Every time Brenda gets a P.O., or we have a potential new hire, or Larry messes something up, you get a message. It’s then up to you which department needs to handle which task. And then, HighOrbit even allows us to send you an automatic reminder in case you fail to open the original request.”

“DING! DING! DING!”

Doug

DOUG
“What do you think the dings are for, Molly?”

Molly

MOLLY
“I thought it was the waffle iron acting up.”

Dale

DALE
“There’s a waffle iron under there?! Enough, Molly! We’re going to clean this mess up once and for all! Larry, get the broom closet key!”

Larry

LARRY
“You got it, boss!”

Greg

GREG
“Wait, I got this, Uh…”

Larry

LARRY
“What are you doing, Greg?”

Greg

GREG
“I though I had the key…”

Dale

DALE
“Why would you have the key?”

Greg

GREG
“No reason in particular.”

Dale

DALE
“And now you’ve lost it!”

Greg

GREG
“But it was in my pants!”

Brenda

BRENDA
“Evidently it wasn’t.”

Greg

GREG
“Butt out of this, Brenda!”

“DING!”

Office Asst

LISA
Just then, Lisa the new intern at Bailey, Frost, and Myrrh, appears from the ether holding the broom closet key. She has disheveled hair and her lipstick needs a touch up.

“Was someone looking for this?”

Greg

GREG
“Wow! What a coincidence! Where did you find that?”

“DING!”
